EXCERPT FROM THE iam FACEBOOK PAGE FROM A EX-UNION OFFICIAL

I have been on both sides, in union jobs and at Delta. I am retired from Delta and I see the IAM and its supporters making outrageous claims and outright lies. Seniority is used in almost every instance at Delta. Tom when I was an IAM member in the 70's the membership was much higher, you're losing members every year. Edwin, don't tell me about ... See MoreSWA, I helped organize them under the IAM in 1977, our first contract was $600 a month and it has taken them 33 years to get to their current pay scale. They are a different kind of carrier than Delta, no freight or cargo, no mail, no small packages and only carry luggage. Mgt style and strategy, one kind of A/C is why they can pay a higher rate but w/o having to pay union dues Delta agents make about $500 a month more than comparable airline like NWA, plus DL has profit sharing, stock options, 401K matching funds, bonus for certain performance goals met, retirement, insurance and 3 more holidays a year and DL employees get 4 weeks after 10 yrs while it takes NWA employees 16 yrs.
