SO MUCH FOR THE UNIONS CLAIM OF JOB PROTECTION.

Our colleagues at Alaska Air are currently represented by the IAM. Alaska Air farmed out all ramp and baggage xfer positions in Sea. Sea is Alaska`s main hub. A arbitrator recently ruled on the unions request to bring thos jobs back in house. The arbitrator ruled against the union.
The Award does not return the Seattle ramp work to Alaska employees represented by the IAM, does not reinstate all IAM-represented employees who lost their jobs, and does not make all employees whole for their losses.

One of the unions big talking points has been they will be able to offer protection from Delta farming our jobs out to sub-contractors. Delta has no intentions of farming out anymore ramp jobs and has actually in sourced back ramps that were previously contracted. The Alaska Air situation makes it clear that the iam has no control when it comes to protecting their workers when a company is forced to make such moves because of the inflexibility of a union contract.

Without a union Delta has been able to protect our jobs during these harsh economic times while unionized carriers have laid off hundreds of workers. REMEMBER THE IAM CAN`T GUARANTEE ANYTHING!!

you will never see them post about this on the other site-they are not allowed by the IAM

they must be able to guarantee everything because Chris-je -kev-and bruce say they can. according to them the iam is the only thing that can save the airlines

Actually, the lesson here is make sure your Scope clause is very carefully worded. The language in AS' was not (is not), and this is the end result.

Attention Ready Reserves!!!

With the Iam you do not get 2 weeks vacation until AFTER 5 yrs.

You HAVE to buy your first uniforms yourself.

With the Iam you WILL be making less per hour.

With the Iam Dues are taken out of your checks no matter what.{kinda like a paycut taking less home}

With the Iam you pay dues or you get fired!!!!

Dues go up whenever they decide. They just had another dues increase.

It is VERY VERY hard to get the union out, even if most agree to it.

The iam has had lots and lots of workers dues stolen by corrupt people.

More to follow from the TRUTHTELLER

If a union gets in , you will indeed need insurance. Insurance to protect you from losing pay and benefits you already enjoy; insurance to protect you from being forced to go on strike; insurance to protect you from being permanently replaced during a strike; insurance to protect you from being fined for exercising your first amendment right of free speech; insurance to protect you from retaliation if you disagree with or try to get rid of the union; insurance to protect Delta from becoming uncompetitive due to union bureaucracy, politics, endless bickering, etc. ;and insurance to protect you from a unions efforts to create bitterness, resentment, turmoil, etc. ; to justify its existence. Fortunately, such insurance is available and its FREE. All it requires is for all of us to VOTE NO to the iam. More truth about the unions to come.

December 7, Mark Owens, formerly financial secretary of International Association of Machinists Local Lodge 366W, was charged in the Circuit Court of Marion County, Kentucky with theft of $200 from the Lebanon, Ky. union. He then pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to 60 days of probation on the condition that he make restitution of $200 and pay $153 in fines and court costs. The action follows an investigation by the Labor Department's Office of Labor-Management Standards.

In the case of Harry Keil, there was more than met the eye. Keil, formerly the pension, health and welfare fund manager for International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District 9, had been indicted this January on two counts of embezzling about $54,000 from a pair of union benefit plans. But his true take, as he had admitted at his plea hearing, was much higher. Keil was sentenced on Thursday, October 29 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri to 27 months in prison and was ordered to make restitution of about $341,000 to the insurance fund covering the Bridgeton, Mo.-based labor organization's losses.

On August 25, Linda Tickle, former employee of International Association of Machinists Locals 56 and 1458, was indicted in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee on two counts of embezzling $30,173.27 from the Chattanooga unions. The indictment follows an investigation by the Labor Department's Office of Labor-Management Standards.

IS THIS WHERE UNION DUES ARE GOING?????

At least Richard Klemser won't have to do much prison time. Klemser, 44, formerly treasurer of International Association of Machinists Local 1041, was sentenced on August 11 to a one-year prison term for embezzlement. During January 2004-March 2008, federal prosecutors alleged, Klemser stole about $64,000 from the West Long Branch, N.J. union, which represents employees of NJ Transit, CSX Transportation, Norfolk Southern and Conrail. He had pleaded guilty in January. Under the sentencing agreement, he also will have to make full restitution. The guilty plea follows an investigation by the U.S. Labor Department's Office of Labor-Management Standards.

rry Keil was in a lot deeper than initial reports had indicated. Keil, a former benefit fund manager for International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) District 9, pleaded guilty in May in St. Louis federal court to one count of embezzlement and one count of mail fraud. He admitted that he'd embezzled $341,000 from the Bridgeton, Mo. union, a figure far higher than the earlier figure of $54,702 reported following his indictment on January 29.

The jails are filling up with corrupt union people it appears.

I will be voting NO to the Iam

April 7, Jeffrey Baker, former co-chairman of the Picket Committee of International Association of Machinists Local Lodge 1943, was sentenced to 180 days home confinement and two years probation, and ordered to pay a $2,500 fine and a $25 special assessment for making a false entry in union records. An investigation by the Labor Department's Office of Labor-Management earlier had determined that Baker misappropriated more than 100 strike pay checks and forged member signatures on most of them. He pleaded guilty in January and made restitution in the amount of $16,050. (OLMS, 4/21/09).

Is it easy to get rid of a union once it is in? NO!!!!!!!!!!

IAM Article L Section 3: The following actions or omissions shall constitute misconduct by a member which shall warrant a reprimand, FINE,SUSPENSION and or expulsion from membership...Attempting,inaugurating,or encouraging or attempting to inaugurate any dual labor movement, or supporting movements of organizations inimical to the interest of the IAM or its established laws and policies.

Unions can also delay decertification almost indefinitely by filing unfair labor practice charges against DL. No matter how unfounded their charges may be, unions cannot be decertified while they are pending. With appeals, that can prevent decertification for years.

So if we vote these guys in...they are here to stay NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO OR DONT GET US THEY WILL GET THEIR DUES!!! As for me I will vote NO to the iam!

Are we really going to go through all this again? I was hoping Bubba's reopening of this site wouldn't result in the same repeating of tired topics. Guess I was hoping for too much.

Anyway...

Everyone of the people listed got caught; the system worked. Furthermore, there are people in every industry (public & private) that do bad things.

So using your logic, we should automatically paint all bank employees as criminal every time one gets caught embezzeling? All gov't officals everytime one gets caught doing something?

The list goes on and on...

Delta has no intentions of farming out anymore ramp jobs.....

How do you know this to be a fact? We were told this when we worked all 100 ramp stations. Then we were contract out to 23 stations. We were told that it will never happen again. And then lost 8 more stations. VP of ACS was very clear to say the same thing you just said.

You obviousely have no power to prove you can guarantee me anything at Delta. You have actually guaranteed me that you can screw me at any time. You can blast IAM all you want.

I have a better chance with the union. Delta management proved that to me when I was contracted out with over 20 years.

At least the IAM tried to get their jobs back. Why are you not blasting management for even farming out the ramp jobs in the first place?

You should be outraged that blue collar jobs were thrown to the street. But your not. You enjoy writing about jobs contracted out just so you can cut up a union? What kind of person does this tell me that you are?

You are to not be trusted.

When do we vote? When can I vote for the union?

"Is it easy to get rid of a union once it is in? NO!!!!!!!!!!"

The fact of the matter is that it IS possible to get a union out. It happened at Delta to the Ground Pilot Instructors. It took longer to get the union in than it did to get it out. But when the GPI's voted to remove TWU, your wonderful, loving, caring, thoughtful, precious Delta Airlines contracted out the GPI's jobs to Delta Global Services.

What kind of "family" is that? The workers voted to trust the company and voted out the union. But when they did, they contracted out thier jobs.

HMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!

I voting union!!

What's your point?

my point is where are the delta people in jails? Are 100% of the thugs and IAM thieves caught? You all talk how the iam is so clean and the savior of the airlines and how dirty the DL execs are.

Kevin at NWA said...

Do you paint people in other industries that have committed crimes with such a broad brush?

Furthermore, are you sure that every single IAM member and/or official is a "thief?"

We've been down this road before; think carefully before you answer.

" Are 100% of the thugs and IAM thieves caught? You all talk how the iam is so clean and the savior of the airlines and how dirty the DL execs are."

Please do so, so we can discuss them.

No, I don't know that.

Delta Air Lines Accused of Hacking Lobbyist's Email
The company says the allegation is absurd

By Lucian Constantin, Web News Editor

15th of October 2009, 08:57 GMT

A flyers' rights activist hasDelta Air Lines Accused of Hacking Lobbyist's Email
The company says the allegation is absurd filed a civil lawsuit against Delta Air Lines, the world's largest commercial carrier, for allegedly hacking into her email account and laptop. The lobbyist claims the company also destroyed documents she gathered to support the passing of new legislation that will guarantee passenger rights during flight delays.

Kathleen Hanni is the executive director of Flyersrights.org, an organization that lobbies for the Airline Passenger’s Bill of Rights of 2009. If passed, this bill would force airline companies to provide accommodations for passengers that are sitting in a plane delayed on the tarmac. These include food, water, clean air, as well as access to restrooms and medical treatment. Additionally, passengers would have the right to disembark if a plane is delayed for more than three hours.

Hanni claims that if airlines were forced to respect these new rights, they would lose significant sums of money. In order to gather airline surface delay statistics that would support her cause, she contacted Frederick Foreman, an analyst with Metron Aviation. Virginia-based Metron is a company specializing in advanced aviation research and lists Delta Air Lines as one of its clients.

In February 2009, Foreman received explicit permission from his employer to exchange public information with Hanni and his final report to the lobbyist revealed that Delta was experiencing excessive surface delays. However, during their communication, multiple email accounts belonging to Hanni, as well as her personal computer, were compromised.

"As a result of the hacking, spreadsheets, lists of donors, e-mails, Department of Transportation statistics and Hanni’s personal files were redirected to an unknown location. Additionally, all of the information on Hanni’s personal laptop was corrupted and rendered useless," the complaint reads. The incident was confirmed by her email provider, AOL.

In a sworn statement submitted to the court, Foreman claims that in September, he was confronted by Metron executives who had in their possession screenshots of the emails exchanged with Hanni from his personal account. The company officials allegedly told Foreman that Delta had provided them with the emails and that the airline was angry about the communications. Metron subsequently fired Foreman the same day.

Hanni accuses Delta and Metron of conspiring to invade her privacy and destroy records that would help pass the Passenger's Bill of Rights. She demands a jury trial because the actions are a Seventh Amendment violation. The activist and the organization she represents request at least $1 million in reparatory damages and a minimum of $10 million in exemplary/punitive ones.

The Arbitrator also held that all "IAM-represented employees adversely affected by the subcontracting out of the Seattle ramp work on May 13, 2005, are entitled to back pay without interest through the date of [the Award.]"

Award date February 10, 2010.

After nearly 5 years, IAM represented workers in SEA were awarded lost back pay.

Gee, Bubba, you seem to have left out an important part.

He has led the company since 2000. B.s. Lockhart like Lorch are the crooked CEO'S that have gotten America in the shape it is today!
Plants like the one in Pensacola have created the WORST drinking water in the U.S.A. with the help of people like IAN WELCH!
Please don't think I'm taking up for the baby gangsters called the i.a.m unions that are in bed with them either.
Debbie Trotter mcdonald, i.a.m. prez 2460 is just as guilty in covering up the asbestoes,PCB's & other toxins that filter Pensacola Florida waters!
This So-called american company is now one of the worst to disgrace this nation & if you want to support their Nazi agendy & Nepotism-please buy their products!
As for their stock prices-well they fired Nick too when he cashed them in when they got as high as they will get anytime soon.
I wouldn't invest in them & if and when the stock hits $60 a share they (the Laywers) are going to sell.
Employees will suffer-but it couldn't happen to a stupider bunch!

I'm Back.
Yes I know this company very well and have some incriminating evidence to prove it.
Myself and a buddy who was the chairman of the bargaining committee tried to help the employees @ I.A.M. 2460 Pensacola-but were fired because the company and the union worked together to dig up some simple stuff to shut us up.
It worked-but in the future it will cost them all.
It is already costing them. They already have a new contract which eliminates healthcare benifits if a new employee has less than 10 years!
TGP Capital had better listen. You think any decent working people are going to stay with such a company now?
It couldn't happen to a stupider bunch!
The unions contract was not suppose to happen until this coming MARCH 2012. They were scared from the lockout at mariatta, no doubt.
By the way-Armstrong's Pensacola Plant is where all the R&R is done and given to the other competing plants.
Want the recipe for Ceramaguard?

P.S. TGP Capital-if your waiting for the $60 a share to sell,ya might not hold your breath. TGP should be firing crooks like Ian Welch and Debbie mcdonald TROTTER!
I got more history on this place than any of ya'll do & I'll be publishing it for free on the internet. SO STAY TUNED!

Employees with union complaints need to call the AFL-CIO's legal department to investigate such complaints of I.A.M. and publicize in the press such complaints, AND demand professional and competent union representation that fights for workers rights as they are contracted to do. Demand that the existing IAM leadership step down and be replaced, and that new IAM officials survey workers they represent to list their demands. The alternative to a corrupt union is not NO union, but a competent union responsive to the needs of its worker constituents.
